08/2021 – 12/2021   Paks II. Nuclear Power Plant Development Private Company Limited by Shares

Leading establishing expert.

02/2016 – 08/2021   Mecsekérc Ltd.

As project engineer (geologist, engineering geologist) I was working in several seismic surveying projects around Pécs city. I had been joining the HLW, L/ILW radioactive waste repository investigation programs.

10/2013 – 02/2016   MVM Paks II. Nuclear Power Plant Development Private Company Limited by Shares

As site expert (geologist) I had been working on the ground exploration project around the Paks Nuclear Power Plant (Hungary). I had been responsible for the technical preparation of the 3D seismic survey and the full complex geological investigation program tenders (TED process), afterwards during the execution of the project, I was responsible for the checking of the 3D seismic survey site measurements, data processing and data interpretation. During the geological investigation I was reponsible for the following fields: geology, geotectonics, earthquake hazard evaluation, numerical modelling, geotechnics.

05/2013 – 09/2013   Transinvest Budapest and Transinvest Iraq Kurdistan Ltd.

As an engineering geologogist consultant I checked the design of the Penjween and Darbandichan tunnels – the Client was the Regional Government – Sulaymaniyah – Kurdistan.

The design is based on NMT philosophy. A section of the excavation which is crossing the “Zagros Main Fault Zone” has been designed by NATM approach.

04/2009 – 05/2013   ROCKSTUDY LTD. (Kőmérő Kft.)

As a geotechnical engineer, I was continuing the geotechnical and rock mechanical supervision of Bátaapáti Nuclear Waste Repository project (including the engineering geological tunnel mapping and preparing complex scientific reports). Our company was carrying out the most geotechnical, rock mechanical in situ and laboratory measurements as well as their analyses from Bátaapáti Nuclear Waste Repository project (eg. Overcoring measurements with CSIRO and doorstopper methods, mechanical convergence, extensometer measurements, crack monitoring etc.)

– cooperation with WILDHORSE Energy company: rock mechanical and geomechanical modeling work for the feasibility study of Mecsek Hills UCG (Underground Coal Gasification) Project.

09/2008 – 04/2009   MOTT MACDONALD GROUP

Engineering Geologist – Transportation Europe Division, Budapest

Bátaapáti Nuclear Waste Repository – Design work for the IIIrd excavation phase of Bátaapáti nuclear low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste repository, rock support and grouting, in-situ rock measurements. Besides this work we have been modeling the rock mechanical behavior of the host rock and reporting of the results.

There are two parallel acces tunnels (with 1.7 km length, 21 and 25 m2 tunnel sections) in fractured granite (monzogranite and monzonite) ground, intersected with fault and weathered zones. The repository caverns are designed with 96 m2 cross section. The underground facility is being excavated by drilling-blasting excavation method NMT, with shotcrete and rockbolt pattern rock support.

Delhi metro project – designing of the in situ soil- and rock mechanical monitoring system.

Heathrow Baggage Tunnel to T5, London – assistance in the numerical modelling as a part of the checking of this work. (www.mottmac.hu)

06/2008 09/2008        ROTAQUA.ROM S.R.L.

(Core drillings, geological exploration of solid mineral raw materials, environmental, geotechnical and water well drillings etc. in Romania)

  09/2004 – 06/2008   MECSEKÉRC ENVIRONMENTAL LTD.

Geotechnical Engineer, acting leader of the Geotechnical Department

Boda Clay Formation (BAF) a potential host rock for the high level radioactive waste repository – I worked in this research project as a geologist.

Bátaapáti Nuclear Waste Repository – Construction of the twin exploratory inclined access tunnels:

 –     Engineering geological/geotechnical work eg. tunnel mapping (with JointMetriX3D and present with ShapeMetriX3D system at RockStudy Ltd.), inclinometer, extensometers surveying, handling of geotechnical documents.

–     Design and implementation of extensometers, mechanical convergences, strain gauges installation.

–     During construction of overground and underground: geological and engineering geological mapping (we were using a modern photogrammetry system which we were able to generate real 3D models and analyses from the tunnel wall surface: JointMetrix3D, www.3gsm.at), technical inspections (eg. rock support, grouting) and technical support.

–     Pre- and post-grouting design.

–     Geological and engineering geological investigations and planning.

–     Evaluation of all geotechnical data, including assessment of RMR, Q and GSI methods.

  • Geological and geotechnical drill core logging.
  • Reporting all results in Hungarian and English languages.
